Emily Rozell // Motherhood

Meet Emily Rozell. She is a stay at home mom and homeschool teacher. She is the mother of three little ones ages 8,5, and 3.

What does the role of "motherhood" mean to you?

I believe the role of the mother is to love, nurture, protect and raise her children with complete joy and unselfishness. It is a continual job that requires a lot of love, patience and sleepless nights whiteout much recognition or reward. A mother usually stays in a state of planning, organizing, cleaning, researching, working and always putting herself last.

What is the best advice you have ever receive when it comes to motherhood?

The best advice I have probably received is from the Bible. Gen 6:9 "Let us not grow weary of doing good" All of Proverbs 31!! Peter 4:8- "above all love each other deeply, since love covers a multitude of sins." 1 Cor 13:4-7 LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND !!!! Col 3:23 Whatever you do work at it with all your heart FOR GOD, not man!

How do you like the spend days with your little ones?

We spend our days ENJOYING our time with GOD, each other, the outside world he has created for us, art, nature, food, music, books, etc. We enjoy time with friends and learning about the world he has created for us in as many capacities as possible!

What do you find most important in your role as a mother?

The most important thing to me in my role as "mother" is providing a daily example of Jesus to my children.  I want to shepherd them in such a way that they are curious and intrigued by the things of God.  I want them to be drawn to him through the ways we spend our days, the way we spend our money, the choices we make and the areas of life we choose to be important to us.  I want to constantly be setting forth before my children a "feast" of ideas, good books, healthy foods, interesting ideas, good music and  inspiring friendships.
